We created OKMA to be an antidote to that isolation. We are a global, independent social platform built for people who love peace, cherish harmony, and want to help each other navigate life's everyday challenges. How OKMA Works

We have intentionally structured our platform into two pillars that work together to create a safe, self-sustaining ecosystem:

Life comes with complex problems, but the answers already exist within humanity. OKMA features a crowd-sourced advice network where users from all walks of life share practical guidance.

Running a global website requires secure servers, development, and moderation, but we refuse to sell your data or fill your screen with toxic, invasive advertisements.

• Sustaining the Mission: We built our own built-in marketplace so our community can buy, sell, and trade safely with people they trust.
• Funding Peace: The activity within this marketplace directly funds the running costs of OKMA. When you use the marketplace, you are not just trading goods — you are actively investing in a safer, more harmonious digital home for everyone.

Welcome to OKMA! We are a global family built on peace, harmony, and mutual support. To keep our community a safe and beautiful place for everyone, we practice these four simple habits:

• Speak with Kindness: We share our thoughts gently. Even when we disagree, we use polite words and respect each other's feelings.
• Listen to Understand: We open our hearts to stories from different cultures. We respect everyone's unique background and life journey.
• Share with Purpose: We post things that lift people up, solve problems, or add true value to someone else's day.
• Protect the Peace: If you see someone who is upset or bringing negative energy, respond with a helpful word or quietly report it to our team so we can support them.

Our Promise: On OKMA, we do not focus on mistakes. If a post doesn't fit our peaceful vision, we will gently help you rephrase it so we can keep building a beautiful world together.

1. Introduction

OKMA ("we," "us," or "our") operates a social and marketplace platform that lets people connect, share posts, message each other, and buy and sell with people they trust. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: your email address and password (securely handled by our authentication provider), display name, and optional handle.

Profile information: bio, profile photo, and the country, state/region, and city you choose to share — this helps you find and be found by people near you.

Content you create: posts, comments, likes, follows, private messages, and marketplace listings.

Payment information: when you buy or sell through the Marketplace, payments are processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details — Stripe handles that under its own security standards. We keep a record of the order (item, amount, buyer, seller, and status) to confirm your purchase.

Technical information: standard information such as browser type and general usage of the app, collected automatically to help the app run properly.

Cookies: we use a single cookie to remember your chosen display language.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and provide the app's features to you
• To personalize your experience, such as location-based people search and suggestions
• To process marketplace purchases and mark items sold
• To send you notifications about activity relevant to you (likes, comments, follows, messages)
• To keep the community safe, including reviewing reported content
• To communicate with you about support requests

4. How We Share Information

We share information only where necessary: with our hosting and database provider (Supabase) and our payment processor (Stripe), both of which are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. Your public profile, posts, and marketplace listings are visible to other users of the app as part of its normal operation. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. Payment card data is handled entirely by Stripe under PCI-DSS compliance. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Choices

You can edit or delete your profile, posts, and listings at any time from within the app. To request deletion of your account or data we hold about you, contact us at the email below.

7. Children's Privacy

OKMA is not directed at, and should not be used by, children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

8. International Users

OKMA is used by people in many countries. By using the app, you understand that your information may be processed in a country other than your own.

Our shared promise

1. I will treat every person as human

I will respect the dignity of everyone, whatever their country, culture, language, religion, gender, age, ability or background. I will not demean, mock or exclude anyone because of who they are.

2. I will choose peace over violence

I will not threaten, bully, harass or intimidate anyone. I will not encourage, celebrate or call for violence in any form, against any person or group.

3. I will listen before I judge

I can disagree without hating. I will share my views with respect, stay open to learning from people whose lives differ from mine, and remember that understanding begins with listening.

4. I will protect those who are vulnerable

I will take special care of children, older people and anyone who is struggling. I will never exploit or abuse anyone, and I will speak up and report content that puts someone at risk. If someone tells me they are in danger or in crisis, I will encourage them to contact local emergency services or a trusted helpline.

5. I will be honest

I will not spread scams, deceptive offers or deliberate misinformation, and I will not pretend to be someone else.

6. I will keep this space clean and kind

I will not post vulgar, obscene, hateful or sexual content. I understand that OKMA uses automated checks and human review to keep the community peaceful, and that content that goes against this promise may be blocked or removed.

7. I will protect other people’s privacy

I will not share anyone’s private information, photos or messages without their permission.

8. I will be a ripple of good

I believe one person’s mindset can ripple outward to a family, a community and the world. I will choose growth, empathy and collaboration over fear, judgement and friction.

What this means in practice

If content or behaviour goes against this promise, we may block or remove it, or limit or close the account, as set out in our Terms of Use. You can report anything that worries you using the “…” menu on a post, or by contacting us at .

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your country if higher, to use OKMA.

4. Your Account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Please provide accurate information when you sign up.

5. Your Content

You own the content you post. By posting on OKMA, you give us permission to display and distribute it within the app so other users can see it. You're responsible for what you post. Content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, impersonates someone else, or is spam is not allowed and may be removed.

6. Marketplace & Payments

Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings. Buyers and sellers transact directly with each other; OKMA provides the platform but is not a party to the sale itself. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Once a purchase is completed, the listing is marked sold. Any disputes about an item's condition, delivery, or refund should first be worked out directly between buyer and seller; we're glad to help facilitate contact if needed.

7. Prohibited Conduct

• Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users
• Posting illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive content or listings
• Attempting to access another user's account
• Using the app to spam or scrape data
• Impersonating another person or entity

8. Moderation & Termination

Users can report content that violates these terms. We may review, remove content, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Use, at our discretion.

9. Disclaimers

OKMA is provided "as is." We do their best to keep the app running smoothly and marketplace transactions safe, but we don't guarantee the app will always be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any user or listing is accurate or trustworthy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, OKMA is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including disputes between buyers and sellers.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
